Police responded to the crash on East Street near the back entrance of Mansfield High School around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, Mansfield Police said on Facebook.
Investigation determined that a gray Toyota Corolla and white For Explorer were involved in the crash. Responding officers noticed that an older man, who was sitting in the back of the Corolla, seemed to be in distress, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital were he was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to police. His name has yet to be released.
Everyone else involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, a juvenile driving the Corolla, who was a student of the Teachers Driving Academy, was cited for causing the accident because they failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The crash remains under investigation.
